Paris Texas

Paris Texas performs a vintage repertoire of bluegrass, western and gypsy swing music.  The music harkens from an era when brother harmonies were at the top of the country music charts, Bob Wills & his Texas Playboys were swinging the plains,  and Django and Stephane were gracing the clubs of Paris.   The band features the jaw-dropping guitar playing of Bobby Henrie who performs Doc Watson and Django Reinhardt with equal passion and precision. Bobby is known throughout upstate New York for his work with the Henrie Brothers (traditional old time and bluegrass music), Bobby Henrie & the Goners (rockabilly), Cornerstone, and the Djangoners (gypsy swing).   Bobby is joined by his brother Doug Henrie on bass and Rick Manning on fiddle, mandolin and vocals.

Here is Paris Texas in Dundee NY on February 8 performing the Doc Watson classic Brownsferry Blues, featuring some fine flatpicking by Bobby Henrie.
Paris Texas plays a few tunes from the Django and Stephane Parisian swing repetoire, including Dark Eyes. this version is of Bobby performing with the Djangoners on WXXI’s Open Tunings with Scott Regan.
Here is Dee, Bobby and Rick performing with Cornerstone at the State Theatre in Ithaca in May 2013, opening for Hot Rize.
Here is Bobby and Rick performing a Doc Watson favorite, Blackberry Rag, at the Naples Hotel (it was a bit loud and rowdy!).
Here we are performing a gypsy swing favorite Tchavolo Swing, also in concert at the Dundee Baptist Church on February 8. Note that this is an audio recording that is a bit low in volume. Love this tune!
Bobby and Rick had the pleasure of performing at Kevin Maul and Peggy Lecuyer’s wedding with Bill Keith on banjo and Brian Williams on bass. Here is a video of us playing one of Bill’s favorite banjo tune Blackberry Blossom
